Rev. Dottie Cook
Senior Minister, Dottie L. Cook is a graduate of Brite Divinity School and Texas Christian University. Before attending Brite, Dottie taught orchestra in middle and high schools; worked for a United Methodist social service agency providing tutoring, summer camps and directing volunteers.
Starting seminary as a United Methodist, Dottie joined the Disciples of Christ as an integral part of her call to ministry. She has served Disciples of Christ churches in Hillsboro and Fort Worth, Texas. In addition to ministry in the local congregation, Dottie has directed summer camps, keynoted Men’s and Women’s retreats and served on the board of Tarrant Churches Together.
Dottie served as the chair of the Southwest Region Committee on Ministry, and is working with Regional Restructure Committees.
Dottie has two sons, one who graduated from Chapman University in Orange, California and the other is a graduate of the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York City, New York.
Rev. Don Tatlock
Community Minister, Don Tatlock is currently a second career student a Brite Divinity School and a graduate of Texas Christian University. Don grew up in the mission field in Latin America, where his parents served as Disciples of Christ (Christian Church) missionaries in Paraguay, Argentina and Mexico. Most recently, Don worked with Church World Service Latin America region as Program Manager for Central America and the Caribbean.
Youth Minister, Mason Wagner is a graduate of TCU with a double major in Religion and Communications. Active in the Disciples of Christ his whole life, he has been following a call to vocational ministry for about 5 years now. Mason served on the TBA Youth Ministry Council for two years in high school and worked as a summer in- tern at Disciples Crossing in 2015.
His youth group experience is one of the major reasons he wants to be a minister today. As a result “I want to do everything I can to make Youth an incredible experience for everyone.”
Rob has been music director at South Hills since 2000. In addition to directing the Chancel Choir and Guitar Group, Rob constantly searches for new ways to enhance worship by involving the community in creative instrumental and singing opportunities. Through a diversity of styles, the music at South Hills reflects our multitude of perspectives with Christ as the center.
Rob is the director of choirs and music instructor at Weatherford College. He has served as President of the Texas Two-Year College Choir Directors Association in 2007. Rob also contributes reviews of local choral and pop performances for the website TheaterJones.
Rob has a beautiful and ginger-haired family in wife Emily and son Weston.
Nathaniel Cook studied Instrumental Music Performance and LGBTQ Studies at Chapman University. While living in Southern California and going to school, Nathaniel worked for the Office of Church Relations as the Student PR Coordinator, and is now the Communications Director for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the Southwest Region. Nathaniel’s passion for music, people, and church work make them a natural fit at South Hills Christian Church. In their free time, Nathaniel loves to take photographs and bake any assortment of baked goods.
